It was a good week overall. We wrapped up our visit with the aunties and enjoyed some more family time.
Last Thursday we had a thunderstorm with some extra strong winds pass through. It took a limb off a large oak tree we have near the back of our house. It was big enough that it would have done some damage if it had hit our house. Thankfully it landed a few feet away from the house and shed, kind of right in between the two.
There are two other limbs dangling and one that was twisted back and will probably die. We fared better than the neighbors though. They had a tin shed that ended up across the street and through their neighbors fence, a camper cover was bent to destruction, trampoline was thrown into a tree and destroyed, a play swing set was destroyed, they had a big dent in their car, etc. Somehow in all that no one even lost power. It must have been just one strong gust that cut through here.
On Tuesday when the aunties had to leave they made a little treasure hunt for Carlie and Donny and set it all up while the they both slept. The treasure consisted of frosting, cake mix, and cupcake papers so it was time to make cupcakes after they left. Thank you, Auntie Pam, Rachel, and Charity!
While I was at work on Thursday Carlie wanted to write me a letter. With Mommy’s help she wrote several notes, put them in an envelop, and put them in the mailbox for Daddy. When I got home from work there was a special letter to get from Carlie. I love all the sweet notes!
